VeriFlora 3.0 Standard

 The VeriFlora Standard consists of eight elements of sustainability; FLP&CB is one of the elements. All producers and most handlers certified under VeriFlora are audited against the FLP&CB criteria, including the following:

·         Equitable hiring and employment, addressing: terms of hiring, wages and non-discrimination, working hours and overtime, freedom of association, right to organize and collective bargaining, vacation and sick leave, provisions to protect children, and prevention of child labor and forced labor.

·         Safe workplace conditions, including: worker training, occupational health and safety, access to clean housing, potable water and sanitary facilities, and human resources management.

·         Worker and family access to health, education, and transportation services.

·         Local and regional impacts, including assessment of the degree to which operations impact the surrounding community, and development of cooperative strategies to minimize such impacts. 

·         Community engagement, including benefits to the surrounding community in terms of local hiring, procurement, and infrastructure maintenance.

·         Demonstrated economic stability of the Agricultural Production or Handling Operation.
